CONFERENCES

The Institute has hosted 11 academic conferences which have contemplated tolerance, aging, and education. Several of our conferences were co-hosted by various departments at academic institutions including the University of Pennsylvania, Rice University, Case Western Reserve University, and Hebrew University. Over 150 people were in attendance at our most recent virtual Social Vision Conference — the third in the series of Social Vision conversations that have focused on ecology, incarceration, and human interconnectedness. Our findings show that scholars across varied disciplines are deeply interested in the relevance Jewish spirituality has on solving society’s greatest challenges. Peter McLaren, the renowned education scholar, shared his experience from our most recent conference: “What a wonderful conference. The Institute brings cutting-edge scholars and activists together in dialogue to address fundamental issues addressing the world today. It does so in ways that help to heal and repair the injustices that inflict so many worldwide.”
